First Successful Implantation of the M6-C Artificial Cervical Disc in the United Kingdom

Lindare Medical is pleased to announce the first successful implantation of the M6-C Artificial Cervical Disc in the United Kingdom. This first procedure was completed recently at Southampton General Hospital by leading Consultant Spine Surgeon Mr. Nick Boeree.

The M6-C is an advanced generation artificial disc developed to replace an intervertebral disc damaged by cervical disc degeneration. It is the only artificial disc designed to replicate the anatomic structure and biomechanical performance of a natural disc by incorporating an artificial nucleus and annulus. Together, the artificial nucleus and annulus are designed to provide similar motion and performance characteristics of a natural disc. The M6’s polymer nucleus is designed to simulate the compressible function of the native nucleus, while the surrounding multi-layer high tensile strength fiber annulus is intended to facilitate a controlled and natural range of motion in multiple directions. This physiologic motion is intended to preserve segmental motion and possibly prevent or delay additional adjacent level degeneration.

Lindare Medical is pleased to be the exclusive distributor for the M6-C in the United Kingdom. To learn more about the M6-C please provide your contact information on our website, or email Mike Kyne at mkyne@lindaremedical.co.uk .
