WHAT IS A DBM? DBM is Demineralised Bone Matrix, which is clear of any possible infection, and which retains BMP’s and Growth factors in massive quantities. It is produced by breaking down bone in Hydrochloric Acid, until only a small amount of material remains. DBM products are bone growth enhancers and give a massive boost to the formation of bone in the first three to four weeks only. The most important contraindication to remember is infection: any sign of infection will be exacerbated, as all DBM’s are growth mediums. The use of this type of product allows for reduced morbidity and pain at the donor site. We have shown the presence of many of the naturally occurring BMP’s which do not cause the same massive stem cell reaction as the recombitant or synthetic BMP’s.  A higher DBM content in a product has been proven to improve bone growth rates over other, lesser Products. All of our products can be mixed as the Surgeon prefers with synthetics, allograft and/or autologous bone products
