Endoscopic Spine Surgery
Endoscopy refers to a type of non-intrusive procedure that uses a long, flexible and thin tube with a light and camera attached (called an endoscope) which allows surgeons to examine internal parts of the body. The camera atop the endoscope relays a video feed to an external monitor which the surgeon can easily view in order to perform the procedure.
Bearing this in mind, endoscopic spine surgery involves the process of making a small incision in the skin where the surgery is being performed, either the cervical or lumbar area, and then inserting the endoscope. The surgery is then performed via the surgeon watching the monitor which is relaying the endescope video feed and then undertaking the treatment required. This method of endoscopic spine surgery is known as ‘Minimally-Invasive Spine Surgery’ (or MISS) which allows for patients to have less pain and quicker recovery periods compared to other types of spinal surgery.
Endoscopic spine surgery features a number of different methods and we supply and distribute an wide range of technology solutions for surgeons to perform this surgery, including:
- Endoscopic Discectomy
- Endoscopic Foraminotomy
- Endoscopic Facet Rhizotomy
- Endoscopic Laminotomy
